Quote of the day ""

Hello and welcome to my Webpage!

I am a PhD student at the Databases and Distributed Systems group in the Computer Science department at the Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany, working under the supervision of Prof. Alejandro Buchmann.

My main research interests lie at the intersection of Event-based Systems and Wireless Sensor Networks, among other pervasive technologies. I am currently building a middleware platform for sensornets which offers a distributed workflow execution environment based on events and actions.

In October 2004, I received a degree in System's Engineering (with a Major in Computer Science) from the Faculty of Sciences, UNICEN, Tandil, Argentina.

Functions & Memberships

Teaching

This semester I'll be teaching the following:

  • Lab: Wireless Sensor Networks, with A. Herzog, D. Jacobi, K. Nawaz (DVS); K. van Laerhoven (MIS); Dept. of Computer Science, TU Darmstadt, Winter Term 2009/10.

A full list of the teaching activities I've participated in can be seen here.

Research Projects & Activities

I have participated in a number of workshops, conferences and scientific meetings in general to enhance my professional skills, present my current work or simply share our experience with others. I maintain a full list here.

  • In 2008 I served as Volunteer Coordinator for the 24th International Conference on Data Engineering (ICDE'08).
  • In 2007 I volunteered for the European Conference on Ambient Intelligence (Ami-08).
  • Between July 2005 and March 2006, I participated in an industry cooperation project between the DVS group and SAP Labs Palo Alto to enhance the performance of the AutoID Infrastructure.
  • During the time between November 2004 and March 2005, I joined SAP Labs Palo Alto as graduate student in the Smart Items Research Program, under the supervision of Dr. Christof Bornhövd. The main topic was focused on the performance characteristics of SAP's AutoID Infrastructure Repository.
  • In 2003, I completed a research internship at the Databases and Distributed Systems group, TU Darmstadt, Germany, under the supervision of Prof. Alejandro Buchmann, PhD, and Dr. Mariano Cilia. The work was centered around enhancing publish/subscribe systems to support mobility.

However, it is logical to think that sensor networks will be exploited by multiple, concurrent applications. In this demonstration we present the concept of Scopes, a powerful programming abstraction that allows to dynamically partition the set of nodes into groups according to certain criteria and to address a group as a whole to perform operations on them. } }
