My research focus lies mainly in the query
optimization and processing corner or the DBMS architecture. I am active in
the DVS group addressing Databases on Modern
Hardware, which is currently sponsored by
the (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft)
project FlashyDB. This DFG project aims at
investigation of the influence of Flash Memory
on the database architecture, performance and algorithms.
